From Rev.io Ideas to Reality – Top Five Q3 2021 Feature Releases

Published 25 Oct 2021

Each month, the Rev.io team releases new online billing system features based on suggestions shared by our clients.

Client feedback, gathered through our Rev.io Ideas forum, helps us identify areas where we can improve the platform. By regularly enhancing our software to reflect the evolving needs of our clients, we create an even better user experience that helps our clients more easily meet their goals from using our system.

Below, we outline the five most valuable updates and explain what they mean for clients’ operating instances of Rev.io.

Latest Features & Functionalities

1.

WHAT IS THE NEW FEATURE?

Auto-Complete Change and Disconnect Orders on Due Date

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Your business’s Rev.io platform managers can now configure auto-complete upon the due date for Change and Disconnect Orders. (These changes only apply to orders with providers that don’t have electronic provisioning enabled.)

You can now pre-set a due date with ‘Auto-Complete on Due Date’. When that due date arrives, the order will automatically complete in Rev.io. You can find this checkbox as you are creating these order types. Another option is to edit the order’s due date and locate the checkbox next to the due date.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

This new functionality saves our clients and their platform managers time. With this enhancement, you can avoid touching the order again after the Auto Complete upon the date.

2.

WHAT IS THE NEW FEATURE?

Assign Users to Multiple Groups

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Your business’s Rev.io platform managers can now assign a Rev.io user to multiple user groups at once.

To do this, you will access the now available User Groups tab when creating or editing a user. All User Groups configured under settings will display as an option at the user level. You can now select these User Groups all at once instead of accessing each user group individually to assign users one at a time.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

This new functionality saves our clients and their platform managers time. You can now add a user to all applicable groups on one screen, avoiding manual errors such as forgetting to add users to specific groups.

3.

WHAT IS THE NEW FEATURE?

Service Hyperlinks on Tickets

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Your business’s Rev.io platform managers with permission to edit services will now see primary service IDs displayed as a hyperlink when viewing a ticket with primary service associated with it. By clicking this link, you can open the ‘Edit Service’ page for that service in a new tab.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

This new functionality saves our clients and their platform managers time, making the process of linking between a ticket and the actual service more efficient.

4.

WHAT IS THE NEW FEATURE?

Adding Services to Active Orders

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Your business’s platform managers can now add additional services to in-flight orders that are not yet completed or cancelled. Instead of having to delete the original order and create a new one with all the services, users can now just add the additional service(s) to the existing order. (This functionality can be used on New and Conversion type orders only.)

Note: This is an optional configuration. If you want Rev.io to activate this setting for your platform instance, please contact our Client Success team.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

This new functionality saves our clients and their platform managers time. It also eliminates potential confusion, as you can now reuse existing orders when additional services need to be added.

5.

WHAT IS THE NEW FEATURE?

POP3 Self Service Filters

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Your business’s platform managers with the appropriate permission will now have access to a tool that allows for filtering of emails brought into the system via the TicketPOP3 configuration. If a customer email that sends emails into the POP3 inbox has potential to create automated response loops, the email address can be filtered out to prevent such errors from occurring. This tool can be accessed based on a role’s menu permission (Settings > Permissions > Menu Items > Settings > POP3 Filters).

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

This new functionality enables our clients and their platform managers to handle POP3 emails that create email loops independently. Before, you would have to submit tickets for the Rev.io team to create this filter.

This new self-serve release will help our clients manage the platform more efficiently, eliminating the need to create support tickets and follow up on these requests.
